Mussels, Clams & Wine

Serve with bread.

ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter

  • 1 minced shallot

  • 4 minced garlic cloves

  • 1/2 cup white wine

  • 2 lb clams, cleaned

  • 2 lb mussels, cleaned

Optional Garnishes

  • parsley, chives, or basil

 

Step 1

Melt butter. Saute shallot until soft. Add garlic, saute 30 seconds. Deglaze with wine and broth.


Step 2

Add clams and mussels. Cover and steam for 5-10 minutes.


Step 3

Discard any unopened mollusks. Plate with cooking liquid. Garnish if desired. Serve with bread.
